Do you pray for healing even when there is no cure with man?
Do you fervently pray for healing even if the healing means that God will permanently heal and take a loved one home to heaven? Isn't what we want ultimately what God's will is?
Do you believe God at His Word? Do you believe that death ultimately means life? A life in heaven with God! You either believe it or you don't. There is no room for doubt in the matter of death and life.........everlasting life.
God wants our fervent prayer. He wants our heart and to have a relationship with us. When a loved one is sick and there is no cure with man, God is the only cure. He is the cure even when man has a cure, because God has given man knowledge to be able to cure. When we are praying fervently for a loved one to be healed, we have to trust God for that healing, no matter what it may look like in the end.
God may choose to heal them here on earth and use that healing as their testimony for His glory and to reach others. God may choose to heal them by giving them their glorified body in heaven and He will use us to be the testimony of His faithfulness as He brings us comfort and peace.
We can trust God for peace and comfort if a loved one dies. He will fill you with joy because your loved one is with Him. This means we will see our loved one again! That should bring us joy amidst the pain!
I can honestly say I did not pray those fervent prayers for healing. I don't know if somewhere deep down I didn't believe it could happen or if I didn't want to get my hopes up in the event God chose to take them home. I really don't know. I am doing a heart search, but I hesitate to admit I think it is both reasons. But I can say most assuredly, He has been with me through these several years of loss I have been in. I have been in a tough season. But God has been with me through it all giving me strength. Holding on to Him and His Word is key. This is what I have truly learned the most.
What I have recently learned in this season of loss is we need to pray fervently, continually for healing of our loved one even if we know God's will may be to take them home. We don't know His plan for our loved one so we must pray. Healing will come. And we need to believe and trust that no matter what healing is going to come, it is an answer to our prayers.
In the process of it all, He will be preparing our hearts and heal us in the process too!
1. Pray fervently. He hears us.
2. Healing will come.
3. Trust God.
4. God does answer prayers.
5. Stay in His Word. That is where He speaks to us.
Your loved one will not die before his or her appointed time.
John 3:16-17 ~ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
This season has changed my view/perception on prayer.
