In memory of my dad, I am sharing what I read at his funeral.
If I would have known it would be our last day together, I would have hugged you a little bit tighter.
I would have hugged you a little bit longer.
I would have stared at you more intently as to memorize your face.
I would have told you I love you a few more times and expressed to you how much you mean to me.
I would have thanked you for all that you have done for me and told you how I love being your daughter!
I would have told you how lucky and privileged I am to call you daddy. Well in our case....Dadio!
I would have listened more intently to memorize your words, phrases and your voice, so that when I need my daddy I would know what you would tell me.
If I would have known, I would have prayed with you.
I would have told you how much I love you again.
But had I known, I wouldn't have let go at all.
And I know that is why Jesus called you the way He did.
Today, I know you are with our Lord Jesus in heaven and you are with our loved ones that have gone before.
I know you are completely well and are no longer tired or sick.
I love you and miss you my Dadio!!
Until we see each other again!
I wanted to share this to encourage you to make the most of your time with your loved ones because we never know when it might be our last day with them.
